“Being able to attend The Rice Literacy has changed me as a teacher and how I now am leading in the classroom with confidence in my why. I was always told how to do things and what is the right way to things. However, I was never given a thorough explanation on why we use our practices this way. Doing Rice Literacy has done that and more for me. Being able to learn about the why we read books, listen to their words, dictate children’s words, and dramatizing stories. I am grateful for all the opportunities that St. Luke’s had always provided me, however this one will stick for me forever and it’s a seed that I will be able to continue to water and take with me the rest of my career in Early Childhood!”

Funds prop boxes for dramatic play and storytelling in the Early Literacy Lab (ELL)
